UNC's Japanese minor comprises 18 credit hours, which includes 15 in language at the 200 level 和 above 和 three credits in 当代日本 (taught in English). 因为语言 builds upon previous knowledge, the language courses in the minor all have prerequisites; Japanese language courses should be taken in sequence.

When you complete advanced level work in Japanese, you can also pursue graduate study in Japanese, Asian Studies, Japanese History, 国际 事务 和 other related 字段.
